Human Resources Manager 

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Human Resources Assistant will be responsible for processing and maintaining personnel related documentation, including staffing, recruitment, training, disciplinary, performance and leaves of absence. Will provide administrative and/or HR support to staff and visitors to allow for efficient and accurate operation of business processes. Will explain company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants and assist in the coordination of employee onboarding and orientation. Review employee files to answer inquiries and provide information for personnel actions. Answer questions regarding eligibility, benefits, and other pertinent information. Supports Human Resources, managers and staff through a variety of tasks requiring a high level of organization and communication. Perform Human Resources related tasks as determined by the Human Resources Manager and includes the processing of confidential staff issues. Assists in recruitment, on-boarding and termination of employees. Tasks must be completed accurately, with high quality and in a timely confidential manner. Knowledge and application of company policies is essential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

§ Assists the HR Manager in supporting the HR Dept and its processes

§ Able to adhere to practices of confidentiality in all HR-related matters

§ Maintain all personnel files both physically and electronically

§ Enter data into various tracking systems

§ Able to converse with staff and research, review and resolve staff inquiries

§ Distributes payroll checks to department supervisors on a weekly basis

§ Provide general support to administrative staff and visitors

§ Reviews and accepts applications and resumes

§ Assists in planning company-wide special events

§ Other duties as assigned

COMPETENCIES:

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

§ Excellent communication skills

§ Assist the HR Manager in HR-related duties

§ Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties

§ Ability to handle confidential information

§ Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

§ Strong organizational and planning skills

§ Familiar with Microsoft Office

§ Spanish proficiency a plus

§ Able to analyze and respond to HR inquiries

§ Work collaboratively when needed

 

·      High School Diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred

·      Work experience in an office environment required

·      Ability to communicate with all levels of company

·      Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

·      Knowledge of office systems and procedures

JOB FACTORS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

·      Work is administrative in nature with occasional walking between offices and departments

·      Contact with staff at all levels

·      Able to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.

·      Extended period of sedentary desk duties

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

·      Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization

·      High level of accuracy and attention to detail

·      Excellent organizational skills

·      Bilingual in Spanish a plus
