GENERAL PURPOSE:

Promotes company’s products and services in order to attain maximum sales volume. Focus on new and emerging markets within designated area(s). Develop and implements strategic plans to rapidly generate new business with key accounts and new customers. Develop, implement, and manage account strategies for sales, merchandising, product placement, etc. Meet with and monitor stores for proper product presentation to ensure top level appearance, and ensure that retail sales associates have the tools and product knowledge necessary to effectively demonstrate and sell the product(s) to our customers. Prepare and conduct product training and presentation with retail sales associates. Regularly evaluate customer performance and develop strategies to sustain success and improve deficiencies. Represents Company at any promotional events as needed which may include weekends and holiday events. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the launch and expansion of the Milton Sleep Company brand in a new market, driving awareness, growth, and customer engagement.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to secure new business with high-value key accounts.
  • Collaborate closely with the Sales Director and Brand Director to align on store placement and ensure seamless service execution.
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with key retail partners to drive profitable growth.
  • Create and implement joint business and marketing plans with accounts to maximize sales performance.
  • Partner with retailers to develop customized merchandising strategies that optimize visibility and sales for both Milton and the customer.
  • Provide engaging training and ongoing support for in-store sales associates to ensure deep product knowledge and selling confidence.
  • Conduct high-impact store visits to ensure brand consistency, effective product presentation, and improved market share.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, resolve issues promptly, and identify additional opportunities for growth.
  • Work cross-functionally with sales leadership, plant operations, and internal teams to meet sales goals and address market needs.
  • Represent the brand at promotional events, including occasional weekends and holidays, as needed.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
  • 3–5 years of outside sales or territory sales experience, preferably within the home furnishings or consumer goods industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint; strong internet research and digital communication skills
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and the ability to provide proof of auto liability insurance
  • Travel within territory. Some overnight travel required.
  • Some weekend/evening work required.

 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

• 3-5 years of related outside sales territory experience

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

• Manufacturing/Home Furnishings highly preferable

 

JOB FACTORS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

·      Work is Sales related in nature with frequent driving

·      Daily driving between customer locations

·      Reliable transportation required (travel within territory)

·      Valid driver’s license. Proof of valid auto insurance req’d

·      Evening, weekend and some overnight travel required

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

·      Excellent interpersonal skills with exceptional communication ability

·      High level of accuracy and attention to detail

·      Electronic Systems knowledge (MS Office, Outlook, Excel)

·      Proven time management and organizational skills

·      Valid Driver’s License and proof of insurance required

·      Daily driving within identified territory as well as occasional evening, weekend and overnight travel required.
